St. Joseph, MI – On May 8, 2017, JohnsonRauhoff Product Experience Director, Earl Peters, spoke on ADA Compliance at the 64th Annual Society for Technical Communication (STC) Technical Communication Summit in Washington, D.C.
The STC Summit is the premier conference for technical communication education and networking and attracts over 600 attendees and 40 exhibitors over three days. Speaker topics range from content brand strategy to writing a complete application program interface. Selected for his vast expertise in product experience, Peters spoke on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance standards.
“When companies, especially retailers, think of ADA compliance and people with disabilities, they often think of overcoming physical challenges. Wheelchair ramps and Braille buttons come to mind. However, the digital space is often overlooked,” said Peters.
Peters’ presentation covered common ways that digital content overlooks those with a disability while offering solutions to ADA compliance testing.
